Our motto for weight loss training is, “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” Your heart rate will be elevated throughout most of your session, and you will be out of breath! We will never push you beyond your threshold, but we must guarantee that you are working at the proper intensity to achieve the greatest caloric burn.
Initially, we will establish the habit of regular exercise. Your training sessions will be centered around total body movements with a heavy emphasis on cardio. That being said, we are not married to any single training method. We will use equipment and strategies that we feel are best for your weight loss success.
Training Prescription
When it comes to weight loss, proper nutrition is king! The age-old saying, “You can’t out- train a poor diet” is true. In addition to proper nutrition, consistent exercise over an extended period is what it takes to see legitimate results. Since weight gain does not take place over a short period of time, it is unrealistic to expect major weight loss results in, say, just a month.

Let's talk about training frequency. As a weight loss client, you’ll ideally train 5 days per week. This may sound like a lot, especially when you first begin. If 5 days per week is initially unrealistic, we can progressively work toward that goal. We will always keep in mind how your body is responding to the program and we’ll manage your weekly workload to ensure your continued training success.
Our stance on nutrition is simple: focus on the basics! We cannot get lost in the hundreds of fad diets and crazes that currently exist. Concepts such as drinking enough water, increasing your vegetable consumption, and practicing mindful eating are just a few of the nutritional foundations that we will help you master.
Your daily movement outside of structured exercise will only enhance your weight loss journey. It is key to avoid long spells of inactivity and to find ways to move your body throughout the day. This form of movement should not feel overly strenuous and is a great opportunity to clear your mind and relieve stress.
