You don’t need to spend copious amounts of time in the gym to reap the benefits. Our first focus is to establish the habit of regular exercise and initiate what we call the “upward spiral of good health”. Once you begin to feel the positive benefits of regular movement, your motivation to do more will naturally increase.

What to expect

We believe in taking a progressive, not aggressive, approach to your health and fitness training. We constantly stress to our clients that “you cannot get fit in one day but you can sure can get hurt in one day!” That’s why it’s imperative that we intelligently progress your program, to ensure you get the best possible workout without risking injury.

When it comes to improving your overall health and fitness, we focus on the quality of movement over the quantity of movement. Helping you learn the fundamentals of exercise and how to move your body safely through a program designed specifically for you is our initial strategy to ensure your success.

As you become more familiar with exercising, we can progress your program to include more dynamic or advanced movements. Everything in your program is going to have a reason behind it. We never want to do an exercise just for the sake of doing it; instead, it must move the needle toward your big-picture goal!

Training Prescription

As a client looking to improve your general health and fitness, there is more to your training prescription than just showing up for your workouts. While small doses of weekly exercise will get the ball rolling, we take a three-tiered approach to your fitness that also covers your daily movement and nutrition.

Typically, our general health and fitness clients train at a frequency of 2-3 days per week. The goal of these training sessions is not to push your body to the limit or have your body feeling excessively sore for days. The objective of your training will be centered around improving your mobility and increasing your overall strength and conditioning.

When it comes to exercise outside of the gym, we want you to find forms of movement that you enjoy! These could include going for walks, riding your bike, or playing recreational sports such as tennis or golf. A simple daily stretching regime can also be part of your at-home movement plan that will ensure your body feels great and recovers from your training sessions.

Our last focus of your fitness prescription is centered around your nutrition. Our approach to nutrition is simple: follow the basics meticulously well! We will provide you with our “key nutritional strategies” which highlight nutritional foundations such as hydration, consuming plenty of fruits and vegetables, and practicing mindful eating. The bottom line when it comes to nutrition is you don’t want to sabotage your training efforts with poor nutritional habits!

The most wonderful personal trainers, Scott and Will, really helped me get fit in such a fun and energetic way. I’m someone who has never enjoyed sports or things like that, but have found myself absolutely loving the times I come in and I feel so much better for it. So worth it!
