Warm weather and beach season is quickly approaching! As the weather changes, many of our clients go on Spring Break get-aways. If this is in your future, we hope that you have considered your fitness goals and made plans to maintain your exercise frequency. Regardless of your location or situation, you must have the “tools” to train yourself effectively. Those tools are more easily found that you may think.
Access to exercise facilities is nice, but certainly not necessary. Packing some exercise tubing, a TRX, or simply using a few toys you find around the pool is all you need. Success hinges on commitment and know-how. You already know how to do many of the exercises. Push-ups, planks lunges and squatting are all appropriate for most travel programs. The secret is to understand how to sequence your exercises intelligently and how to train at the right pace.
When traveling, seek to maintain your fitness level. If you can return home without having to take a step backward with your training, then you have been quite successful. Accomplishing this takes less time and effort than you may think. Two training sessions per week is enough to maintain your fitness as long as you space them throughout the week. It is at that point that you begin to lose the gains you have made from your previous training sessions.
Whether you travel for business or pleasure, your health and fitness must remain a top priority. If you haven’t already, ask to get set up with a travel program today!
